Garam Hawa, Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi, Jeene Bhi Do Yaaron, Do Bigha Zameen, Awara, Mother India are all exemplery portrayels which only India can offer. Agreed that you may not subscribe to the bollywood version of movies, but bollywood has its own pros and cons.
